Timothy Greenfield-Sanders XXX 30 Porn Star Portraits |
In October 2006, the Fondazione TramontanoArte organized an important exhibition of the work of a great United States photographer, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. Davide de Blasio’s personal friendship with the artist led to the realization of this important exposition in the prestigious halls of the Capodimonte Museum, Naples, in collaboration with the Minister of Cultural Heritage commission, the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Polo Museale in Naples.
Curated by Gianni Mercurio, the exposition offered a selection of celebrated portraits by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, among them XXX 30 porn-star portraits, his latest work on pornography, including portraits of thirty American porno-stars, along with a movie directed by Greenfield-Sanders.
On that occasion, the Fondazione TramontanoArte made a gift to the Capodimonte Museum of a portrait of Roy Lichtenstein that Timothy Greenfield-Sanders took in 1992, now on view in the contemporary art section of the Museum.
